Quick answers to common questions.

It says Chrome blocked reading a local file

For PDFs on your computer, open chrome://extensions, click Details under PDF Mage and turn on "Allow access to file URLs". Then reload the tab. You can also click Open in the editor and pick the file.

Why does replaced text look a little different?

PDF Mage uses one clean sans serif font for new text, because most PDFs only include the letters they already use. The size and color are matched, but the shape of the letters can differ slightly from the original font.

Is the old text really gone after I edit it?

By default the old text is covered, so it can still be selected or copied from the saved file. If you are hiding something sensitive, turn on Flatten before saving. That saves pages as images, so covered content is removed completely.

Can I edit password protected PDFs?

Yes. Enter the password when asked. These files are always saved flattened, so text in them is no longer selectable.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Everything is built into the extension, so it works without an internet connection for local files.
